| The 2nd annual Stanford Open, the most
diverse golf tournament held for the Stanford community, attracted a total of 94
players. There were 38 golf members, 27 alumni, 10 faculty/staff and
19 students competing. There were 15 women and 79 men participants.
|
| On a beautiful but breezy morning, two young
Stanford engineering students captured top individual honors. Repeat champion,
Bree Sharratt, won the women's low gross competition with a solid 76 (despite a triple
bogey 7 on hole 5) while Da Chuang shot a 1-over 72 (offsetting a double bogey with 3 birdies)
to win the men's low gross competition. The individual low-net winner was member Jack
Tuite firing a 67 that included 3 natural birdies. |
| In two-person team play, the overall net winners were a long-time pairing
of members Mark Harrison and Gus James,
firing a 61 to win in a scorecard playoff.
The lowest team gross score was a sparkling 66 by Da Chuang
and alumnus Jim Cowie. |
| Thanks for participating and we'll see you next year! |
